Sounds of Progress is an arts organisation based in Glasgow that trains and assists disabled people to develop musical abilities to a professional standard. We are Scotland's leading producer of high quality inclusive professional music theatre.

  • We provide music and performance opportunities for people with physical, learning and social disabilities, empowering them to aspire to their maximum potential.
  • We work with partners to advocate wider participation in the professional arena for disabled musicians/performers and ensure the highest possible standards for tutors, participants, performance and operational practice.
  • Throughout each year the company run professionally supervised music, drama and composing sessions for disabled groups and individuals of all ages, most of whom are company members developed through our extensive workshop programme.
  • The Company has been established since 1990 and is currently preparing to move into a new custom built space in the Trongate. This will house a recording studio and workshop space as well an office where Sounds of Progress work will be based.
  • A multi award winning company, recent productions have included Heid, Heal, and the Herald Angel winning Blind Gurl and the Crips. The next production will be a co-production with TAG Theatre Company, Liar by Davey Anderson.
