International Connections
Music and disability have no boundaries. Sounds of Progress has worked with disabled musicians working with professional musicians in Romania, and has contacts with groups in Africa, America and Scandinavia. The possibilities of visits, exchange of ideas, joint working and performing are both exciting and appealing for members of the Sounds of Progress. Support for the multiple challenges of travel, meeting new cultures and performing are all part of the long-term vision for our development of opportunities for musicians with disabilities.
Over the next few years we intend to build some firm connections within the UK and Europe to develop an international program of opportunities for members of Sounds of Progress, including visits, exchanges, performances and training. Further afield we want to be able to offer scope to musicians from abroad to join us in training workshops and performances.
