Liar

The next touring production involving Sounds of Progress will be a co-production with TAG Theatre Company and will tour from June 2008.

A new play by Davey Anderson, Liar tells the tale of two 10-year-olds fumbling their way through the adult world of secrets, deception and - worse of all - the unbelievable truth.

Max doesn't say much. But his imagination is working overtime, as he invents ways to escape the family home and avoid his piano lessons. Lisa is the new girl who stays in a caravan down by the canal.

Lisa's scary dad says her mum's run off and abandoned them. But when Max overhears him talking to the pigeons in his doo-cot, he starts to suspect that Lisa's mum might not be far away after all...

A story about an unconventional friendship; about trust, betrayal, hope, fear and the dangerous talent we all have for making things up.

Liar will be fully supported by an integrated programme of creative learning activity, generated and delivered by specialist practitioners at Sounds of Progress and TAG.
