Sounds of Progress offers musical training & mentorship to people with learning, physical and social impairments. There are currently ample opportunities for disabled people to participate in theraputic musical activities, however, there are relatively few organisations that provide inclusive music education.
At Sounds of Progress we recognize the fundamental importance of music education. It offers opportunities to develop creative thinking; increases self-esteem; develops self-discipline; and enhances communication and problem solving skills. In view of this, SOP has designed a pioneering range of programmes, to address the gap in provision of Inclusive music education and to offer people with disabilities access to training and mentorship of the highest quality.
Through Sounds of Progress's projects we focus on developing comunication, interpersonal and social skills - motivating people to take a proactive role in the management of their own lives and gain employment in the mainstream industry. Creating a strong presence of people from diverse backgrounds will promote a positive attitude
towards inclusion, raise awareness and thereby strengthen society as a whole.
